Yakutat Lodge

Hit the sockeye season with help from the Lodge. All the guides were fantastic: Mason, Mike, Luke were all really knowledgeable and help us catch more fish than I could have imagined. Food at the lodge was great, and everyone was helpful. Trip of a lifetime.

The customer service I experience at yak lodge is not like anything I’ve ever experienced elsewhere. Brianna and Chris are once in a lifetime characters. Brittany and Ed are truly a master of their craft. Whenever I have a question, Cody and Kraig are quick to answer. 10/10 recommend this lodge and the amazing staff. The cheesecake is a little expensive though.

The people at Yakutat Lodge are friendly and work hard to make your stay enjoyable. The knowledgeable guides work together to optimize the fishing for all. We plan to return next year.

Yakutat Lodge is one of the few places to eat in Yakutat. They serve breakfast and lunch (lunch service ends at 2pm), and they serve appetizers at 4pm, with dinner served starting at 5pm. So plan accordingly. The food is excellent diner fare and comforting. One of their bartenders is rough around the edges. Otherwise the staff is friendly and efficient. We did not stay overnight at the lodge, but it looked as if the people who did were quite content.

Incredible experience!!!! The staff at the lodge were a lot of fun and the guides were awesome. Had a great time with my family. Our Captain on the salt was Cody. One of the best guides I've ever had the pleasure of working with. He wouldn't take us to some of the deep holes that Jeff likes to frequent but he still made sure we had a great time and caught all the fish we could handle. He stepped up and helped us out on a river day when he didn't have to do it. Class act and an all around fantastic guy. Already trying to figure out how to get back out there.

Yakutat Lodge provides an outstanding fishing experience. We've stayed at one of the cabins about 5 miles from the airport, and this year(2025 Coho) we stayed at the motel style lodge across from the airstrip and the restaurant. I've also utilized another place in the village and this is a bit better. My group of 4 purchased a fully guided package, utilizing guides/food/tackle and processing. First of all, the excellent guides are top notch providing quality equipment; except for waders. They work their butts off for you to get your fish! Not much for you to do other than catch fish. Then there's the food which is also fantastic, of course I ate as much fish as I could since I live in the desert and don't get much fresh fish. The service is friendly and excellent with nothing to complain about. Now for the negative parts: The water is not potable at the airport location, but is at the cabins. They make up for this by providing as much bottled water as you want. The second negative is the transportation situation, where if you don't reserve one of the beater vehicles from the "rental" companies way in advance you maybe SOL. However, I tip my hat to Craig and Cody for getting us where we needed to go in a most timely fashion. They actually saved me $$$ by not renting one of the lousy beater vehicles. You wonder what's going on, because there's so many sitting around, however most do not run! OK, thanks guys for a great time and a successful trip!

Amazing place, friendly and knowledge staff. The "big house" cabin is beautiful and well kept with amazing views of the bay and mountains. Cody will take care of all of your needs, best fishing guides I have ever met. Make the trip and you will not regret is!

We ate two meals here while in Yakutat: lunch and dinner. Both were good, but the dinner was outstanding and as good as any you'd have anywhere! Fresh halibut cooked to perfection with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Thanks!
